Anti-phospholipid syndrome - diagnosis

- The dilute Russell's viper venom time test is more sensitive and more specific than the aPTT in the detection of lupus anticoagulant 

-  Anti-cardiolipin antibodies are detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay 

- Viral infections may cause positive anti-phospholipid antibody tests
