Obstetric cholestasis

- Usually presents after 30 weeks with pruritis - palms / soles, limbs and trunk, worsens as pregnancy progresses and relieved within 48h of delivery

- 75-90% recurrence rate.

- Serum bile acid concentrations are markedly raised (10 - 100 fold) - may be the only abnormality

- Mother is usually not jaundiced. Not associated with neonatal jaundice
