1) Increased thyroid binding globulin
2) Increased total T4
3) Increased total T3
4) Free T4, free T3 and TSH remain unchanged
5) TSH, T3 and T4 do not cross the placenta significantly
6) Fetal thyroid concentrates iodine from 11-12 weeks
- TSH is suppressed in hyperthyroidism
